Youth Health Centre

HYPE Youth Health Centre is a free and confidential service for young people aged 12 – 24 years in the Ashburton District.

What we offer:

Our friendly, non-judgemental team aims to improve youth health and wellbeing. We provide a range of free information and support on a variety of topics, including:

• Alcohol and other drugs
• Budgeting
• Careers
• Driving
• Housing
• LGBTQIA+
• Mental Health
• Nutrition
• Quitting smoking or vaping
• Schooling and education
• Sexual health (including free contraception, pregnancy tests, abortion information and support)
• Stress management

We can also connect you with other agencies and services throughout the district so that you don’t have to do it alone. This can include but is not limited to, addiction services; community law; dental care; sexual health clinic; support for young parents; and Work and Income. We also offer a free and confidential Sexual Health Clinic every Thursday, where you can see a friendly nurse for any needs you may have.

HYPE Youth Health Centre:

• Monday to Friday 3pm – 5pm.
• Drop in or by appointment.
• 193 Burnett Street.

HYPE Sexual Health Clinic:

• Thursdays 3pm – 5pm.
• By appointment.
• 199 Burnett Street.
